Commercial Insurance Risks:
Public Liability Insurance
Public liability insurance covers you against any injury to a third party or property damage you cause during the course of your work. Liability claims can be for huge sums of money which is why public liability insurance policies offer indemnity limits starting from £1,000,000. Essentially you are protecting your business against claims arising from death or personal injury, or damage caused to property not owned by you but in your custody or control.
Products Liability Insurance
Product Liability covers the supply of goods to someone else which, through your negligence, causes injury or damage to them or their property. If you are a manufacturer of goods, for example, it is vitally important you have this insurance in place.
Employers Liability Insurance
If you employ staff or sub-contract staff it is a legal requirement for you to carry Employers Liability insurance. An Employers Liability policy provides cover against any employee who claims against you for injury, illness or death occurring during the course of their employment and whilst working under your supervision.
Minimum cover is £5,000,000 although typically £10,000,000
is the amount most commonly held. Again, if you have any doubt as to the
